If I asked you what makes a great marketplace, how would you answer? Would it be the technology on the platform? Maybe the massive marketing exposure? How about a huge customer base? All important, yes. But I would argue that the essential part of a marketplace is the people behind it. 

Without a great team willing to listen to users, sellers don’t feel connected to the marketplace. Business sellers who run into problems scaling their store will often just go away and sell someplace else after hitting a wall of silence.

Poshmark listens.

A few months ago, I sent a screenshot of how I thought a Bulk Editing tool could work for business sellers on Poshmark. It just so happened that good people at Poshmark had been thinking about Bulk Editing as well. Last Friday, I sat in on a demo of the first iteration of the new Poshmark Bulk Editing tools, and I think they are a great start. Not everything we wanted or everything we need, but a terrific step towards massively increasing our productivity.

Here’s how the Bulk Editing Tools work.

Click the Tool icon in the upper right corner of your closet (app or web).

Select Share to Followers, Make Offer to Likers, or Edit Listing Price.

For Share to Followers, select the listings you wish to share, then click the Share to Followers button.

For Make Offer to Likers, select a discount rate along with a discounted shipping amount and click Next.

Select the product listings you wish to make the discounted offer on and then click Submit Offer to Likers.

To Edit Listing Price in Bulk, click the Raise or Drop option and then select the amount you wish to drop or lower prices. Click Next.

Select the product listings you wish to drop or raise prices, then click the Drop Price or Raise Price button.

Poshmark will slowly roll these new tools out to sellers to make sure nothing breaks on the marketplace. As I mentioned, these tools are a terrific first step to building a robust set of Poshmark Business Tools for resellers. 

I love the new Bulk Editing Tools, and cheers to Poshmark for working hard to make Poshmark Business Sellers lives a bit more productive. Now that we have these tools, of course, we want more. Here’s how I suggest they make the Bulk Editing Tools even better:

• Let us select entire categories, sub-categories, or brands that we would like to Share, Offer or Edit Pricing. Having to click on each product we want to Bulk Edit goes against the concept of time-saving by Bulk Editing.

• Add a timer to the Bulk Price Drop/Raise feature. Just imagine running a sale for a given time period on a particular category, sub-category, or brand in your closet! “$50 off any Prada handbag in stock. Coupon valid through 6/15/21”

• Add the ability to offer discounts of less than 10% for products priced over $500. Give us the flexibility to design our own discounts, particularly for high-dollar products.

• Tie in these promotions to our social channels. Give Business Sellers the ability to share their discounts and promotions directly to Instagram and their business Facebook pages, NOT our personal FB feeds.
